Facebook Users Records is the most Valuable Possession and no Company has Right to Expose it

SHARE:

Facebook is under fire for a long time for leaking personal data of its Users. Previously Facebook had remained in the limelight due to Cambridge Analytica Scandal, due to which the company had to face certain problems. When the things were settling, we came to know that Facebook Data Of 3 mn Users Leaked Again who took a personality quiz and the data was published on a poorly protected website. On those websites, the data could be accessed by unauthorized third parties. Well, Facebook said it has fixed it also but now we have come across another scandal. According to researcher 540 Million, Facebook Users Records are leaked on Amazon Cloud servers. This is done by Facebook developers who exposed hundreds of millions of users records on publicly visible cloud servers. The news is quite surprising as when a person uses any social media app, the overall game is all about trust and privacy.

The researchers further revealed that two data sets came from Mexican media company named  Cultura Colectiva. All the data shows some kind of information like Facebook user activity, account names, and IDs. The same kind of data was also found on another app named  “At the Pool.” Both the app and company had all personal information of users including  22,000 passwords.

Right now it is not revealed that for how long the data was made publicly available and who has got this data from the servers, however, one thing is confirmed that the data was collected from  Amazon cloud servers. The data is now removed by Facebook when it was contacted by the researchers.

A Facebook spokesperson said in a statement:

“Facebook’s policies prohibit storing Facebook information in a public database.“Once alerted to the issue, we worked with Amazon to take down the databases. We are committed to working with the developers on our platform to protect people’s data.”

Facebook is also accused of sharing user’s personal data with third-party apps. I think its time to say goodbye to Facebook and find some better secure platform which at least does not leak or expose your personal information.
